Chief Engineer Of three different science research vessels.
One vessel was a converted seismic gunboat set up for an automated R.O.V. Operating in the
Gulf of Mexico. Equipped with two 3512 Caterpillars for power and parallel 3406 Caterpillar for electrical. Second vessel also a gunboat converted to a four-anchor dive Platform. Equipped with two 3606 Caterpillars for power and parallel 3406 caterpillars for electrical. Third vessel started out as an Anchor Handling Tug Supply Boat, which we converted, to an ultrasound science
research vessel for charting the waters of Alaska for NOAA. Then after an extended ship yard Period which major steel work was done in all tanks two winches were added and four anchors to work as a dive platform. Which I remained aboard the vessel for both shipyard periods over seeing all repairs and refits. Then delivered the vessel through the Panama Canal to the Gulf of Mexico. Vessel powered by Alco 251V12 with Lufkin gears and Berg Johnson C.P.wheels. Electrical power provided by two 3406 Caterpillars split buss.
