Chief Engineer on AHTS vessels working off West Africa. Experience on diesel electric, DP2.



Great White Fleet Oct. 2002 – Nov. 2002

Acting Superintendent with 'Great White Fleet' in Company offices at Antwerp. Responsible for 4 vessels.



Great White Fleet Jun. 1997 – Sept. 2002

Chief Engineer with 'Great White Fleet' on reefer ships.



P&O Apr. 1996 – Jun. 1997

Chief Engineer with 'P & O' on the fast ferry 'Jetliner'.



OIL/OSA Jan. 1992 – Mar. 1996

Chief Engineer with 'OIL/OSA' on Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels in the North Sea and Vietnam.



BP Tankers Feb. 1991 – Dec. 1991

Engineer with BP on both motor and steam vessels.



Fisher Body Ltd. Oct. 1988 – Feb. 1991

Employed with 'Fisher Body Ltd.' in Belfast (a mass production company for Vauxhall and Opel car parts) as

Plant Engineer. Responsible for maintenance of production line machinery, and for design, installation, and

commissioning of production line and special purpose testing machinery.



Short Brothers PLC Apr. 1984 – Sept. 1988

Employed with 'Short Brothers PLC' in Belfast (aircraft and missile Company), as Senior Project Mechanical

Design Engineer in Building services. Responsible for design, installation, and commissioning of services for

new factories. My last project was design of services (heating, air conditioning, fire detection and protection,

boiler house design) for 2 new 'Starstreak' missile production factories.



Ocean Fleets PLC Sept. 1972 – Feb. 1984

Engineering cadetship served with ‘Ocean Fleets PLC’. Employed on 'Blue Funnel Line' & ‘OCL’ vessels.

Sailed on various ship types, including bulk carriers, supertankers, general cargo, and container ships. My final

promotion was as Second Engineer on the steam supertanker 'S.S. Tantalus'.


Education


OND in Engineering.



Engineering Council Part 2 examination passes in ‘The Engineer in Society’, ‘Mechanics of Solids’,

‘Applied Thermodynamics’, & ‘Heat & Mass Transfer’
