Employed as a Chief Engineer on the company’s Diesel Powered Containerships or cargo ships carrying cargo throughout the world. The Chief Engineer is responsible for all machinery and equipment on board as well as heads the Engine Department comprising of several other engineers and unlicensed personell.
Employed as a superitendent Engineer on offshore support vessel for the oil rigs & platforms after the shipyard cycle years. Responsibilities included project management of major conversions to the vessels and oversight of all major repairs done at the docks, underway and in drydock. Other responsibilities were to provide technical support to a fleet of 6 offshore vessels. When not “On Site” during drydocking periods I was on call 24/7 to deal with any issues that may arise with vessels in the drydocks.
Prior to major drydockings I was responsible for the writing of work scope specs. As a Port Engineer I worked in local shipyards in mumbai, India. Responsibilities included overseeing all drydock repairs, interfacing with team leaders to coordinate and facilitate the epedient completion of mulit-million ruppee projects.
Resigned from the post of Electrical superitendent/port Engineer to persue the job with the ocean going ships.
Education
Passed out from the Naval Dockyard, Indian Navy in the year 1986 after four years of training in the department of Electronics Control System for the War ships.
Chief engineer motor from United Kingdom.
All STCW certificates.
