My responsibilities were maintenance and operations of all engine room machinery, coordination with the Chief Engineer of daily and scheduled maintenance and repairs as needed and ensuring that all Coast Guard and ABS test and inspections are up to date.

Job Title: First Assistant and Chief Engineer
While with Sabine, I served as a 1st Engineer on board T-2 Tanker Guadalupe and SS Leader, and as Chief Engineer on SS Trinity. While serving on the Trinity, I took the ship through a major repair period in Greece to repair the rudder assembly. Also made numerous repairs to make ship ready for liquid cargo. I acted as Chief Engineer to start up the SS Philadelphia.
EMPLOYER: Coastal Tankships U.S.A. August 1987-January 1999
Job Title: Oiler, Third, Second and First Assistant Engineer
While serving with Coastal, I worked throughout their fleet of tankers at various positions, from Oiler up to First Engineer. I also helped set up computer-generated planned maintenance and inventory systems on board all ships.

Job Title: Roustabout, Platform Operator
While working on offshore platforms, I worked my way up from roustabout to platform operator. I had many training courses in instrumentation, control valves, vessel operations, and qualified as crane operator up to 50 tons. During this time, I completed a two-year degree for Petroleum Services, which included all phases of drilling and production systems. I also completed courses in geology, mud logging and well completion. I was lead operator for 3 to 5 different platforms. I was responsible for all MMS test and inspections plus all Coast Guard requirements and maintenance for these platforms
EMPLOYER: United States Navy October 1972 - April 1980
Job Title: Boiler Technician ( E-1 thru E-6 )
While in the Navy, I went to Boiler Technician A School for 9 Weeks. I operated both 600 psi and 1200 psi boilers and related equipment. I was honorably discharged from the service.
