• Communicate with ship’s Master any condition that could lead to a safety hazard or pollution incident, critical equipment malfunctions to vessel, cargo or crew.
• Directs all preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment and systems. This also includes repair requests, critical equipment notification, correspondence and evaluation.
• Ensure all spaces under authority are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. A proper amount of materials are onboard to ensure safe and efficient operation. This includes maintaining requisitions, that they are received in a timely manner and reflecting materials received/outstanding.
