Job Description: Cargo Controller - Global Network Operations (Last drawn $2,900.)



• Cargo Intra-Asia Line Hauls.

o Cargo control for 5 weekly services from the SEA region to the Indian Sub-continent, Arabian Gulf and Red Sea regions.

o Performed weekly rotation between cargo planning and service reporting.

o Functioning as a node to the South East Asia network and the in-between point for the departments of trade, planning, sales, marketing and network.

o Daily correspondences with regional front line offices.

o Maintained an average of 95% capacity for all sailings in 2011.

o Improved the automation of Excel reports within a year of joining APL.

• Cargo Short Sea

o Cargo control for all feeder vessels, Post-Panamax and below, sailing within the North Asia, South-East Asia and South Asia regions.

o Reporting for SEA North-South Pipe utilisation.

o Created report forecasting for 18 additional feeder services in South-East Asia, South Asia and Middle East, which remain highly requested by teams from sales, marketing and trade.

o Improved backhaul reporting automation for Cargo Short Sea.

o Expanded Cargo Short Sea to include Feeder Control.

o Expanded into Middle East short sea control.

• Cargo Diversion (Lead)

o Attended to critical requests globally to divert cargo that is already on sea by evaluating the most cost effective and efficient methods.

o Professional experience in settling urgent customer needs.

o Daily correspondences with international front line offices including personal contact with high level personnel.

o Decreased errors and increased reaction time to requests by creating uniformed procedures while maintaining flexibility.

o Attained high levels of customer service by reducing both the number of complaints and the severity per case.

o 50 requests per day on average performed concurrently with Cargo Short Sea and Cargo Europe responsibilities.

• Cargo Europe

o Cargo control for 7 weekly services from Asia to Europe under the G6 Alliance.

o Performed weekly rotation between cargo planning and service reporting.

o Close communication with alliance partners as well for pre-planning and utilisation of allocated slots.

o Functioning as a node to the South East Asia network and the in-between point for the departments of trade, planning, sales, marketing and network.

o Maintained accuracy of every Cargo Europe report to a 1-2% error threshold.
