Experience


Joined sea as an apprentice in 1976 in Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. and worked my way up to Master in 1990. Have worked on all kinds of ships like general cargo, container, bulk carrier, log carrier, passenger, towing vessel and tankers. In 1992 joined Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd. as Master. Since 1994 have commanded mainly VLCCs and sailing till June'10. Presently i aam in Shanghai shipyard in China as new building supervisor.

Bachelor of Science (part I)



Professional qualification : Master Mariner holding Master’s License (since 1984) issued by Govt. of India.


Certification


Master's certificate, all STCW certificates, Training for trainers, Ship handling, Electronic chart operation,


Skils


ship handling, navigation, ship inspection, new building inspection for hull structure, computer literate, handling cargo, teaching and training.


 


From 1998 to 2000 (3 years) have been a Faculty member in a Nautical College (Indian Institute of Port Management) teaching various subjects including Ship Construction. At the time of leaving college for sailing, I was the Head of the Nautical Department. I still lecture as a visiting faculty during my leave periods.

Presently working in a shipyard for the owner of a tanker assisting in structure supervision and hull outfitting.
