Objective


I have recently moved back to California (Oct.15, 2011) after a 17 year sea career on and under the water along the Eastern Seaboard as well as the Gulf of Mexico. I am looking for a full time captain, mate and/or deckhand position on the West coast of Southern

California

* * National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration**

March/2009-October/2011

Captain of NOAA vessels involved in installation and maintenance of over 500 moorings in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Assisted in the planing and sinking of the Vandenberg.(The second largest recreational artificial diving reef in the world) Diving equipment maintenance; use of underwater hydraulic drills and jackhammers; responsible for dive plan and safety regulations.

November/2004-September/2007

Captain and maintenance of all fleet vessels during an environmental survey for a three year dredge project in Key West Fl. Assisted scientists in bottom sampling operations in Trinidad and Tobago. Diver/photographer for coral survey during dredge project; utilized Hypack, WinRiver ADCP during turbidity monitoring and data collection . Optical backscatter point sensor (OBS) set up and verification



**Captain's Corner Dive Charters**

November/1996-October/2011

Captain and general engine maintenance for a very busy 65' dive boat. Responsible for safety of all divers and crew. PADI Scuba Instructor in charge of certifying hundreds of students. Divemaster in charge of dive safety briefings and rescues. Maintenance and repair of dive equipment.
