Objective


To obtain a position with an employer in the commercial field(i.e. tugboats,supply vessels,dredges etc.)that will broaden and further my experiences,knowledge and education in the maritime field.Additionally,create a safe and productive work environment through teamwork.Primarily seeking a position as master,yet willing to work my way up the chain to that end in a long term commitment.


Experience


I have worked as Captain/Mate in the yachting industry for the last 9+years,5 years commercially(offshore lobstering-New England/Oil patch-Gulf of Mexico).I have single handed numerous vessels(up to 82'),co-captained a 115'supply vessel in the gulf.Have travelled waters in the U.S.,Carribean and Europe.Concerning "yachts", my duties included cleaning,maintenance'provisioning,trip planing,piloting etc..commercially I worked "on-deck"when i was lobstering,Maintaining"traps",high flyers,line,etc.When working in the gulf on the supply vessel,i piloted,loaded/offloaded equipment,personel etc.and supervised the mate and 2 deckhands.Major achievements:Single handing a 80+motor vessel through the carribean and"surviving"the North sea in an antiquated "chris craft"that floundered after having lost both mains(engines)and Generator due to high amounts of algae.I was able to clean existing primaries/secondaries and restart-making it to a safe harbor.


Education


High school graduate,1 year at a local college(liberal arts),Chapmans Seamanship school,Maritime profesional training and Sea school(both in Ft.Lauderdale,Fl.)


Certification


100Ton Near Coastal(USCG),MROP(FCC)and STCW95


Skils


Broad range of skills associated with vessels(boats).Mechanically strongest with some AC,Electrical,Hydraulic.Carpentry skills
