Objective


My experience with tugs and tows vary in a wide range of tugs, tows and boat positions. Some products I have towed include logs, chips, rock, crane, mud, and oil. I have worked with Literiing, small deck barges, large deck barges, anchor handling and ship assist. I have worked on Tugs ranging in size from 65’ to’.130”. Some of the tugs were single screw and some were twin screw. I also have Z drive experience as well as flanking rudders.

I have a current 200 Ton MOTV license and current radar endorsement issued in December 2007 as well as Bridge Resource Management and Fire Fighting.

MATE K-SEA TRANSPORTATION SEATTLE, WA.

Towing petroleum barges from Los Angeles to San Francisco Ca. and refineries through the western seaboard. Harbor moves in San Francisco and Los Angeles/Long Beach.



Duties include: tide and current calculations, paperwork required for passages, notifications of arrival, safety drills, time sheets, chart corrections and all crew log books. Watch keeping and bridge management including computer skills.

Responsible for making and breaking tow gear on deck. Duties on barge include: landing barge alongside dock, loading and discharge of different petroleum products, maintain generators, pumps and valves, drop vac. barge and prepare for sea.

May 1998-2006

Captain, Mate Brusco Tug and Barge, Port Hueneme, Ca

? Worked on Vessels as Captain/Mate ranging from 47 to 289 tons. Various outside towing experience from San Diego to British Columbia. Experience with log barge, chip barge, rock barge, deck barge, dredge, anchor handling, mud scow and ship assist.

? Captain on “Tug Julius”, “Tug Roland”, “Tug Teri L”, “Tug Hank” as well as many other Brusco Tugs. Towing target barges from Port Hueneme to Missile Defense Test Range located outside the Channel Islands and San Nicolas.

Worked in conjunction with Self Defense Test Ships and other target boats involved with operations.

? Extensive ship assists experience in Port Hueneme Harbor onboard conventional tugs equipped with flanking rudders as well as tractor tugs

? Captain for anchor handling tugs on pipelines above Point Conception in conjunction with “DIVECON” and the “American Patriot”.

Mate Harley Marine Seattle, WA

? Mate aboard the “Tug Eagle” and tractor tug “Millennium Falcon”.

? Towed Petroleum on barge “Jovalon”, Los Angeles to San Francisco.

? Duties include: tide and current calculations, paperwork required for passages, notifications of arrival, safety drills, time sheets, chart corrections and all crew log books.

? Commercial diving/support and Oil Spill Response Vessel.

? Maintain all aspects of vessel including, but not limited to:

? All hydraulic equipment, motors, valves and pump systems.

? 12V, 110V, 208V and 220V, 1,2 and 3 phase electrical installations.

? Extensive knowledge of Air Compressors, including breathable air and NITROX systems.

? Installation of main engine power plants and gear box power plants.

? Welding and fabrication to include steel, stainless and aluminum.

? Hazwopper certification with annual on-board training in conjunction with Clean Seas, Clean Coastal Waters and Metson Marine.

? Worked as boom boat during oil spill responses off Southern California.

? Duties include: owner/operator of dive/support vessel, paperwork required for passages, safety drills, time sheets, chart corrections and all crew log books, bridge management including computer skills.

1980- 1988

Deck/ Engineer Sylvester Tug and Barge Avila, CA

? Deckhand/ Engineer on vessels up to 101 foot.

? Maintained light duty service of diesel engines, gears, generators, hydraulic and air systems. In charge of all deck duties and cargo as well as making and breaking tow.

? Worked moorings and oil platform services including all service crews on and off platforms and shore side facilities.

? Handled barge lines on moorings and offshore facilities.
