Over 35 years experience on the water with 13 years as a supervisor and leader culminating in the position of Vessel Master aboard the 174ft U.S. Army, Landing Craft Utility class vessel. As Vessel Master was overall responsible for safe, efficient operation of vessel, management of 14 personnel, passengers and delivery of cargo. Last military assignment was First Mate/Executive Officer of the 275ft U.S. Army, Logistics Support Vessel class vessel, forward deployed in the Persian Gulf. Second in command of vessel with 32 personnel. Trained, certified, licensed and experienced in all aspects of waterborne logistics, vessel handling, cargo handling, personnel management, navigation, deck operations and damage control. As a senior enlisted navigator in the U.S. Navy, has extensive training and experience in all aspects of navigation, multiple trans-Atlantic voyages, personnel management and leadership. As First Mate on a commercial fishing vessel has experience safely operating deck equipment, managing fishing supplies and equipment and properly handling the catch. During multiple off shore sailboat deliveries gained experience in sailing techniques and navigation.
