Experience


Currently responsible for chartering bulk vessels and tankers (dry and liquid cargoes) in high-volume environment, and directing movement of cargo valued in excess of $100 million annually.



Vessel knowledge; (Dry) SDBC’s/GBC’s, Single hull tankers up to +900’ LOA (grain loaded), ATB/ITB and pulled/towed barges (range 5,000 – 48,067T DWT), Mark V Tweens/Multi-purpose vessels. Parcel tankers (range 3,000 – 37,000T DWT), ATB/ITB and pulled/towed tank barges (range 3,100 – 13,593T DWT (single and double-hull).



Port experience includes USG (sea or river berth)/USWC/USNORPAC terminals to load bulk dry cargo ex elevator spout, floating barges, spiralveyors for bagged cargoes, as well as shore tank terminal load facilities at both USG (NOLA-IMTT)/USNE (Norfolk) to load liquid bulk cargoes.



Effective in operational management and team leadership, with keen eye for cost-containment and profitability measures. Well versed with industry policies, regulatory controls and documentation. Such regulations cover GMDSS, IMO, ISM/ISPS/SOLAS, MARPOL, OPA90, USCG and USMARAD.

Fully fluent in English and Spanish, solid computer skills.

Continuing education (Advanced Marine Navigation) and sea time toward 200 Ton Master.

NYS Certified Firefighter – Training focus on marine fire hazards, prevention and safety.



Professional Diver and Divemaster – Member of Professional Association of Dive Instructors.

Secured a government contract, generating $100,000 in additional revenues.



Saved $108,000 in overhead (over ten years) for branch facility.



Drafted crew manual/checklist for USCG compliance – Subchapter T Boats.



Conducted lectures on marine chartering – from RFP to fixture and methods of delivery for bulk grain and liquid cargoes (bulk veg-oil) at workshops in Atlanta, Port au Prince and Lima.


 


For the last three years have become further involved in the offshore sportfishing industry, independently promoting training workshops for both the sportfisherman up to the professional offshore captain.



Additionally, have of recent begun studies for potential strategies to save on marine fuel costs, similar to the the European air industry which allowed it to post profit gains in 2008.
