Navigation: Celestial, Radar, ARPA, GPS, Nobeltec VS. Electronics: 12/24 DC/120 AC, VHF/SSB, etc. Sail, Diesel and Gasoline propulsion systems. Global and Domestic deliveries, charters, educational/instructional, marine consultation, and total vessel management.

USCG Licensed 100-t Master (200-ton upg pending), Aux Sail, Tow Endorsements. Republica de Panama Maritimo 3000-t Deck Officer (#34-151); USPS Certified: AP, marine electronics, diesel engines, meteorology, bridge management. Current US Passport, International Driving Permit.

Maritime experience: Compass Rose Marine Services, LLC, Kinston, NC, USA

2000 - Present Captain – Contract global, and domestic delivery, charter, sea trials, vessel management, marine survey, special projects.



2006 – Present Sea School, Charleston, SC, USA

USCG Certified Instructor – OUPV, OS/ABS, 100-t UPG, Tow and Aux Sail Endorsements. Training, testing and certifying USCG and USMM officer, ABS, SCTW candidates. Courses conducted nationwide.

Captain Kitson is a mature, experienced professional with a wide range of qualifications, skills and proven record of reliability. He is in excellent health, and lives with his wife Brenda and their dog “Sailor” in the couple’s fifth generation home in Kinston, North Carolina. They sail 12-month a year on their CSY 44’ cutter, “Okeechobee”.

Kitson is also an avid musician, photographer, and outdoorsman. He is comfortable with extended domestic and international travel.
