To secure a position where my knowledge, skills and superior work ethic can be used to their full potential. I would like to work for a private owner or family who needs there boat well maintained, in immaculate condition and ready to go for whatever type of trip is needed.
Experience
2001 to present- Operating charter boats out of Dana Point, Ca.
-The company I have been with owns six different vessels from 44' to 95'.
-Responsibilities include passenger safety and well being, delegating crew responsibilities. handling a wide variety of maintenance and upkeep issues, USCG inspections and general boat management.
10/2009 to 5/2010-2nd Captain on The Spirit of Adventure
-Worked both long range fishing and Natural history trips down the Baja coast and into the Sea of Cortez.
-Some responsibilities included wheel watches, passenger safety, maintenance and using to skiffs to take passengers ashore or diving.
Education
1998-Graduated South Oldham High School

Certification
-100 ton Masters license
-Standards of training, certification and watchkeeping (STCW) endorsement.
-CPR and First Aid
-FCC Marine Radio Operators permit
-Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Skils
-Very experienced running local, offshore and Baja coast fishing charters, whale watching, harbor cruises, corporate events etc.
-Comfortable handling a variety of boats (single, double and triple screw).
-A lot of experience with tight quarters boat handling.
-Good people person. My living is made by keeping people happy. Rain or shine, fish or no fish, flat and rough seas.
-All around knowledgeable about Oceanic Natural History (whales, dolphins, fish and reef life)
-Extensive knowledge of the Southern California coast, Baja coast and the Sea of Cortez.
-Some experience on mainland mexico coast as well mostly Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan.
-Comfortable using all varieties off marine electronics (chart plotters, radar, GPS).
-Good hands-on engineering and practical skills
