Port Captain September 2009—Present

Hornblower Cruises and Events

Sacramento, CA

Operated 83 ft, 63 ton, 435-passenger riverboat on the Sacrament River.

Operated 70 ft, 80 ton, 265-passenger crew boat on the Sacramento River.

Maintained highest level of passenger safety and customer service, while operating fun and exciting tours and events on the Sacramento River.

Maintained daily, monthly, and yearly logs for USCG and preventive maintenance.

Coordinated preventive maintenance and major repairs with port engineer.

Worked with Port engineer to run maintenance program, including electrical, plumbing and engine repair.

Maintained and progressed safety and training program, held safety training day for all employees to train stewards, bartenders, and chefs in safety and emergency procedures.

Prepared both vessels for COI inspections, including all official logs, security audits and design, and mechanical deficiencies.

Managed food and bar service during major events.

Implemented new cruise and event ideas to expand customer base and help the company grow in a new port.



Senior Captain March 2005—January 2009

Nekton Diving Cruises

Ft Lauderdale, FL

Operated 78 ft, 94 ton, 49-passenger SWATH diving vessel through near shore and coastal waters of the Bahamas, St. Croix, Puerto Rico, and the Cayman Islands.

Maintained the highest levels of customer service to guarantee the satisfaction of all guest aboard.

Maintained logs for monthly/weekly preventative maintenance for mechanical systems on board, as well as official logs for USCG.

Maintained accounting records for petty cash, sales and rentals onboard the vessel as well as parts orders and food service budgets.

Created and maintained weekly and yearly crew schedules.

Oversaw food service and steward duties.

Oversaw all repair and engineering projects as well as repair smaller plumbing and electrical problems.

Maintained parts order forms and repair logs.

Managed all aspects of diving operations on vessel, such as locations, times, emergency procedures, etc.
