I would primarily like to be contacted there are openings for deck-officers (2nd mate, 1st mate)
I also enjoy other functions, like operations-coordinator, inspections-officer (my current position in the Norwegian Coastguard consists of all these functions)
Experience
I'm currently an officer in the Norwegian Navy. I'm employed as the Navigation officer on board the Norwegian Coast Guard Vessel "Nordkapp". My function includes duties like, "watch officer", "Helicopter Control Officer", "Fishery inspector" and "Operations coordinator". In civil terms I would compare it to a 1st mate employment.
I've done my duty now since 1996. During this period I've been the "Watch officer" on board Minehunters, Submarines and now on the Coast Guard vessel Nordkapp (3360 tonnes).
Education
1999 - 2003: Royal Norwegian Naval Academy; "Bachelor-Deckofficer".
Certification
Deckofficer class 3
Skils
Navigator; I've been sailing all sizes of Naval vessels and am able to conduct safe voyages both inshore and over seas.
Shiphandling; I'm familiar with pod-operated propulsion as well as fixed propellers and standard rudder.
Tug: I've done the STCW basic training for a Deckofficer Tug operator.
Helicopter control officer: this is a NATO Naval degree of flight control and coordination between Maritime aircraft.
