Captain

Objective

OBJECTIVE: To obtain a position that utilizes my skills, education and experience to contribute to the vessel and enhance my knowledge of the mariner's industry.s

Experience

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Michael Ahearn, and I am respectfully inquiring as to whether or not there are any new employment opportunities within your company, specifically a Dredge or Crew Captain. Your company was recommended to me by a Tanker Man from VANE BROTHERS, John Pruitt, when I took my STCW.

I have experience working as a Crew Boat Captain for WEEKS Marine, where I most recently worked on the “Ocean County Outfall Project”. My job responsibilities included directing assigned activities of the vessel, and taking the responsible role for the overall operation, maintenance, safety, personnel and production. As well as provide daily production and maintenance reports to my Division and project manager, Claude Dion, who would be happy to endorse my experience there.

It is important to note that I recently obtained my 200 ton Masters, and passed my Apprentice Mate (Steersman) exam with top marks. I am also very familiar and highly respect the laws and regulations of operating powerful dredges and equipment in order to ensure safety, environmental wellness and efficiency.

Next to my Dredge experience, I have been a commercial fisherman who owned and operated my own Fishing Business for over 26 years. My experience in my own business through the years, has prepared me for all that is to be expected when working on any type of Sea Vessel, including steering and operating large vessels in harsh weather conditions, using radios, depth finders, radars, lights, buoys, and lighthouses and repairing equipment. My resume is enclosed for further review.

I know your time is valuable and I appreciate any efforts you may make on my behalf. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss my qualifications further.

Best,

Michael Ahearn
