Responsibilities: Pilot companies 64’, 90’ and 105’ twin-screw passenger vessels on the waters of Lake Union, Lake Washington and Elliott Bay, Washington. Supervise and train crew. Narrate tour highlights. Maintain ships log. Refuel vessels and assist in their maintenance and repairs. Operate in compliance with all state and federal regulations in a manner which assure the safety of passengers, crew and vessel(s).

Position: Relief Captain and Deckhand/Purser
Supervisor: John Ferris, Captain
Responsibilities: As captain, I pilot the ferry on regularly scheduled runs to and from Herron Island on the waters of Puget Sound, Washington. Supervise deckhand, oversee loading and unloading of vessel, maintain log, perform emergency drills. As deckhand, my duties include handling mooring lines, operating ramp, loading/unloading vehicles, securing safety nets and wheel chocks; assist in refueling and maintenance of vessel. Purser duties include collecting fares and enforcing ferry access policy. Remain on-call 24 hours a day for emergency runs.

Certification
I hold a USCG 100-ton masters license with commercial assistance towing and sailing endorsements, a TWIC card, first-aid/cpr certificate and Marine Radio Operators Permit
Skils
I am proficient in piloting a variety of craft including single-screw, twin-screw, double end power vessels as well as sailing vessels. I am familiar with GPS navigation and have operated a variety of radar units.
