I am looking for a job operating or managing passenger vessels. I have an out going personality and need more stimulation than my present job doing research on Lake Michigan, and Lake Huron give me.

The STURGEON is a stern trawler which does bottom and midwater trawl surveys and gill net surveys on the Great Lakes. I have been on Leave and Leave without Pay from Oct 05 to Feb 06 on Contract with US Marine Corporation McClean, Va supervising the restoration of a 115' Fishing Trawler in Seattle, WA, a $1.8 million project.
Aug 1997 to Apr 2004
Captain of RV CURLEW for US Fish and Wildlife Service in Juneau, Alaska. The CURLEW conducted bird and habitat surveys both above and below the waterline. Contracted with the US Army Corps to do their weather stations in Glacier Bay and with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the University of BC to do their steller sea lion brand resighting surveys.

Captain of several Fishing Vessels including The GREEN HOPE, the ONE OCEAN, the OCEAN HOPE 1, 2, AND 3. Fished the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea.
1980 to 1982 International Seafoods of Alaska, Kodiak, Alaska. Outside Operations Manager. I managed vessel operations outside the fish processing facility, including fish tenders, catcher vessels, and processing ships.

I'm a people person's people person. I have always trained my crews to take over any and all of my duties. I'm and excellent chef and have cooked my meals for my crews. I worked with and fished with citizens of many nations and have inherited some skills from all. I make Kimchi, suishi, pelmeni, etc.
For the Fish and Wildlife Service in Juneau, I acted as the Colateral Duty Safety Officer, the Small boat training instructor, the bear and fire arms safety intructor, the contracting officer and public outreach person. I did invasive species education in the middle schools and conducted the Jr Duck Stamp art competition in K-12 schools.
