Maintain personnel and training records, to include monthly evaluation of personnel’s progress.
Manage ship’s Health, Safety and Environment Program to include personal protective equipment and safety equipment readiness, record keeping, and pollution prevention.
Maintain, update and document safe working procedures for the crew. Conduct job safety meetings prior to job start. Initiate work permits and ensure crew is aware of requirements.
Organize, assist with, and critique all emergency drills/exercises and ensure any issues are resolved.
Direct crew in performance of daily duties and evaluate their safety practices.
Maintain inventory records of supplies onboard and requisition re-supply, as needed. Supervise all loading/unloading of deck cargo, transfer of personnel, pumping of liquid cargo, fuel, and equipment.
