I grew up commercial fishing with my father in Seldovia, AK and have worked on and operated boats most of my life.

I have operated vessels in the commercial fishing, freight, oil field support and charter industries and worked in the Chukchi, Beaufort, and Bering Seas as well as Cook Inlet and the Gulf of Alaska.

My educational background is in Biology and I have worked for UAF's Institute of Marine Science and as an Environmental Consultant in oil spill response planning.
