US Master 100 ton, near coastal, radar, AB unlimited

Skils

I have been a Salmon and Halibut commercial fisherman in Kodiak, AK from 1977 to 2005 and

have owned my own set net site for most of that time. I have fished the Bering Sea crab fishery

in 1980 also and most of my sea experience has been around capes and serious Alaskan waters. I

have refrigeration experience also.

I also worked in New Zealand for Able Tasman Sea Shuttle on a seasonal basis in 2003 and 2004

driving water taxis in and around Abel Tasman State Park. These boats were 35 foot aluminum

jet driven passenger vessels for which I needed the Inshore Launch Masters Certificate ( the New

Zealand equivalent of the 100 ton Masters near coastal)which I still currently have.

In the Summer of 2008 I worked as a boat captain for Saltwater Inc for the Yakutat Salmon Set

Net Observer Program. (NMFS)

I have sold my boats and business now and I am looking for a job “back on the water” again.

I live in Puget Sound and I have a Masters 100 Ton license (100ton rating, near coastal) as well

as a radar ticket and first aid since May 2008.

I have my TWIC card and AB Unlimited since February 2009.

I was an EMT Intermediate for a few years In the 1990’s but that will have lapsed now.

I have a Dive Certificate that I obtained in the early 1990’s.

I have completed a small boat safety course in Alaska, May 2008.

I was a Basic Fire Fighter in Oregon in the mid 1990’s.

I have run and owned several vessels with Diesel Motors and can attest to being able to do

reasonable maintenance and basic repairs to keep them running. I am not a fully qualified

mechanic.

I have reasonable experience with Marine Electronics but request a thorough run through of

current equipment.

As a commercial fisherman I have knowledge of Basic Deck Equipment and having run my own

business in Alaska for 30 plus years I feel I have a large degree of Safety experience and Sea

Experience and Common Sense.

I would be grateful to be considered for this position and would also like to know the relevant

details of time at sea, travel details and Pay etc.

Please feel free to call me at any time.

Thanks for your consideration.
