Objective


As a young man growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada, it was always a dream of mine to be employed on the water. I have pursued this dream and spent 14 years working in the boating industry. My objective - becoming the complete captain, knowledgeable in all aspects of the operation of vessels and their equipment. I would like to continue my education and utilize my experience in the hopes of some day reaching that goal.

Project Senior Safety Technician – New Orleans Parish, LA

Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Evans Environmental, New Orleans, LA

Senior field safety member with 15 member field safety team governing the safe work practices of the cleanup efforts in New Orleans parish.



2005-2005

Private Yacht Captain

CANYON EXPRESS Huntington, New York

Captain and maintain all aspects on a 52' buddy Davis sport fishing vessel for private owner.



2003-2005

Charter fishing captain / owner

Stars and Stripes Charters Outer Banks, North Carolina

Own and operate seasonal six passengers for hire charter fishing vessel on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.



2004-2005

Vessel exterior finish carpenter

Sculley Boat builders Wanchese, North Carolina

Construction and installation of exterior teak including toe rail, bow pulpit, cover boards and teak decks on Sculley custom offshore fishing vessels.



1995-2003

Chief operations officer / lead captain

Kai Bear Sportfishing Charters Kauai, Hawaii

In charge of the day to day operations of a three boat, six passenger for hire charter fishing company on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.

Captain of the vessel “Grander” a 42' Bertram sport fisher operating more than 325 days per year.

Management of eight employed captains and mates. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all vessels including mechanical, electrical and appearance.

Transport and oversee all annual yard periods conducted on Oahu, Hawaii including scheduling, parts procurement and repair of all vessels.

Conduct public relations with all local hotels and activities’ desks, as well as the happiness of all Kai Bear guests.



1992-1995

Boatswains mate / Coxswain

United States Coast Guard Maritime Safety Office Portland, Oregon

Coxswain (boat operator) of search and rescue vessels on the Columbia and Willamette rivers.

Federal law enforcement officer conducting boardings of vessels. Rescue swimmer and survival specialist.



1990-1992

Vessel engineer

United States Coast Guard Cutter Polar Sea Seattle, Washington

Engineer aboard the 400' polar class icebreaker “Polar Sea”

A scientific research vessel operating in both the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

In charge of the maintenance and repair of all shipboard systems including three Pratt and Whitney jet turbines,

Six Alco 12 cylinder diesels, three ship service generators, hydraulics, boilers, a/c units, pumps, motors and various other equipment.

Crewed two Antarctic expeditions and one Arctic.
