Reported to managing director, while had marine operations and marine base managers report daily to me.
Managed and participated in establishing a marine services operation of 24 Vessels that included Tug boats 500 hp upto 3000hp, barges 500 MT upto10,000 MT, survey boats, Diving support vessels, crew boats and a Marine Terminal.

Handled Business development and sales exclusively. Traveled frequently in the Arabian Gulf region, Turkey and Egypt, Where I developed good relationships with customers and local agents. Customers included Government agencies, Oil Companies and sub-contractors (Daewoo, Hyundai Eng’g, Archirodon, Saipem, Jan De Nul, etc.) in UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait.

Succeeded in concluding a Contract with Government of Dubai to utilize Marine base to support their Palm Island and other offshore projects.
Deployed vessels in Oman to support different projects at Suhar, and Muscat.
Successfully, concluded charter contracts with Int’l contractor Jan De Nul to supply them with their marine support vessels requirement on first right of refusal basis.

Reported to the general manager, and supervised an operations officer, and a port engineer.
Assisted the General Manager in managing deployment of Supply Vessels, Tanker Berthing Tugs, Supply/Tow boats, Tug Boats (500 hp uto 4000 hp), Barges (500 MT to 10,000MT), LCTs, Crew Boats in Oil Fields and islands operating throughout the Gulf Region, and on projects in west India, and East Africa.
Handled customer relations and traveled in this regard throughout the Gulf region to support our customers and check on vessels operating in different Countries.
Assisted in pre-qualifying the company with prospect clients in Qatar, Kuwait, and UAE; prepared supporting commercial bids and attended clients inspections and meetings. Customers included National and International Oil Companies operating in the Arabian Gulf region, as well as their sub-contractors.

Deployed 5 Spreads of 10.000 MT barges with Tugs/Supply boats between Gulf ports and Jamnagar, India to transport Steel Structures over a period of 6 months on Saipem / Reliance project.
Deployed a Berthing Tug at Halul Island, Qatar to assist in berthing/unberthing of Tankers. and other supply vessels to support maintenance operations at offshore fields in Qatar.
Deployed more than 10 small marine vessels at Shuaiba , Kuwait to support projects.
Managed and introduced a user friendly HSE system.
