JUNE 2011 – PRESENT PETRONAS - PETRONAS CHEMICAL GROUP

(Dow Chemical’s interests in the OPTIMAL companies’ JVs acquired. OPTIMAL Chemicals (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd becoming wholly owned subsidiary of PETRONAS)



Position: Executive, Liquid and Gas



•Transition period, carrying similar task as in OPTIMAL Chemicals (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

•Streamlining process to cater all logistic related contracts sourcing for 22 companies under the PETRONAS Chemical Group.



AUGUST 2007 – MAY 2011

OPTIMAL CHEMICALS (M) SDN BHD

(Joint Venture company between Dow Chemicals and PETRONAS)



Position: Logistic Specialist, Supply Chain



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



•Facilitate compliance and consolidation of streamlined Harmonized Codes (HS Code) for trade optimization. Compile all necessary documents for Custom ruling application and regular contact with Custom’s personnel.

•Company key person for Free Trade Agreement (FTA) application to Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). Ensuring all importers (ASEAN, China, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and EU countries) enjoy the preferential tariff under FTA when importing OPTIMAL’s products.

•Responsible for one of the Contract of Affreightment (COA) for bulk tanker to Australia-New Zealand. Monitoring the whole chartering process of vessel nomination, vessel compatibility of carrying the said products and supply-demand planning to lower the total cost.

•Providing monthly strategic indicators across businesses namely: Distribution Variable Cost, Distribution Expense Report, Day Sales Inventory and Day Demand Inventory. Develop reporting format extracting from SAP R3 system for management, business and planning references.

•Monitor sales tax movement for domestic sales and ensure compliance to Custom’s procedures for drum sales tax exemption for export. Reporting submission on taxable products movement, payment and preparing drum reconciliation and declaration to Customs. Regular contact with Custom’s personnel.

•Monitor Chemical Weapon Convention (CWC) permits approval obtained from Ministry of Foreign Affair (MOFA) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). Ensure compliance under CWC requirements.

•Key person for Strategic Trade Act 2010 (STA) compliance when Malaysian Government implemented the Act in 2011. Similar act with Export Control where I was responsible for the communication to stakeholders, preparation of the Internal Compliance Program and application submission to MITI. Ensure company readiness of complying with the Government’s new regulations.



ACHIEVEMENTS



•Developed knowledge on chemicals product range, requirements and product handling.

•Developed knowledge in government procedures for exporting products, FTA benefits and special requirement in exporting chemicals.

•Built close relationship with Government bodies i.e. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of International Trade and Industry and Royal Malaysian Customs.

•Expert in Excel and SAP applications where I am responsible for database information of Supply Chain activities.

WARISAN TANKERS (M) SDN BHD

(Ship Broker)



Position : Chartering / Operation Executive



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



•Involved in vessel’s voyage charter, time charter contract and SPOT business.

•Supervisory and monitoring of vessel nominations process from pre-fixture until end of business transaction.

•Handled post fixture operations which includes pre-vessel arrival at loading port until vessel completes discharging cargo.

•Mediator between ship owner and charterer to negotiate freight and terms agreeable to both parties.

•Ensuring smooth transaction from pre-loading until discharge to avoid unnecessary cost thus saving time for both ship owner and charterer.

•Verified payment for freight, advising both ship owner and charterer on the best solutions for any problems that occur during shipment.

•Research and advice on the palm market situation, vessel movement and freight.

•Supervised on loading/discharging at ports to understand more on technical issues.



ACHIEVEMENTS



•Maintained close relationships with all relevant parties, charterers, ship owners and ship agents in order to provide high level customer service and awareness of all operational issues.

•Developed interpersonal skills and improved knowledge of tanker operations.

•Developed knowledge on palm product range, requirement, product handling and product market.
