Objective

My overall goal is to find a steady job on a boat that will allow me to continue my career in the maritime community. It is my intention is to become a ships captain at some point in the future I would ideally prefer to be underway as much as possible even though I do have a family with children. I am not afraid of hard work, in fact I thrive on adversity and challenge.

Experience

Jan-1-1999 Boat maintenance Assistant at Jupiter inlet Yacht

Feb-15-2000 Which entailed a wide variety of duties such as General and specific boat maintenance/upkeep.

Oct-21-2001 United States Coast Guard

Oct-22-2006 Active Duty of 5 Yrs. completed and Resigned to seek out other opportunities. My job started as a lot of training with schools such as advanced shipboard firefighting at tra-cen Yorktown in VA. Which entailed firefighting, shoring, repair of watertight closures, and general knowledge and procedures. My first ship was a 175' buoy tender which I lived on for 2 Yrs. I was fully qualified to be a Buoy Rigger, Lookout, Firefighting team leader, Watchmen, Buoy lantern technician, Underway Officer of the day, and Quarter master of the watch. All that I mentioned had to be acheived by an oral board consisting of multiple qualified personnel.

I then transferred to Station Portsmouth on the Chesapeake Bay to then shift all my knowledge to Maritime law enforcement and Boating safety. I then recieved my qualifications in Watchstander which entails keeping specific documentations/Logs of all ship movements pertaining to the station and keeping live comms Via radio with all underway ships/boats in our Area of responsibility while maintaining all logs and records. I then went to Coxswain 'C' school and Qualified in my "Nav rules" and became Coxswain Qualified for which I headed up many underway patrols and public safety interventions. My final qualifications were 'Boarding team member'(BTM) and Boarding Officer which gave me the authority to Arrest and Detain on a Federal level. During all I have mentioned I was also head of multiple departments such as: Master at arms, Charts and Pubs maintenance which entailed double checking waypoints and navigational hazards on updated charts and making corrctions for our Area of resonsibility, Boatkeeper of a multitude of different boats which entailed maintenance/upkeep/Re-order and replace key components of all our stations Vessels. I had allmost finished Deck Watch Officer which is a more scenario based Rules of the road.
