Ballast water Microbiologist

Objective

Interested to work at challenging areas like ballast water bioinvasion.

Experience

I can work hard for exploring the mystries of ballast water mediated pathogenic bacterial forms and other invasive microbial species. Got well experience in collection of water and sediment samples from the ships' ballast tanks. I have also got the experience in molecular level analysis of the pathogens.

Education

? Ph.D., (Marine Biology) Thesis on “Microbial investigations on ballast water and sediment at Chennai Horbour – An inventory” (Thesis submited).

? M.Phil (Marine Biology) Thesis on “16S rDNA based characterization of a halophilic actinomycete”, awarded by Annamalai University, Tamilnadu, India (2003).

? M. Sc. (Biotechnology) from K.S. Rangasamy College of Arts and Science, Periyar University, Tamilnadu, India (2001).

Topic of dissertation: “Studies on different E.coli strains encoding reporter gene (GUS-Gene) and to perform GUS assay in Nicotiana tobaccum through Agrobacterium rhizogenes”.

? B.Sc. (Microbiology) from Vel’s College of Arts and Science, University of Madras, Tamilnadu, India (1999).
