? As Assistant Operations Manager I lead the following functions of the Operations department:

a) Responsible for mundane activities of the terminal to ensure efficient and smooth conduct of work with emphasis on productivity, quality and safety.

b) Responsible for planning and allocation of berth for Vessels calling the terminal.

c) Lead and motivate employees to extract highest performance levels.

d) Ensure optimum utilization of resources to enable quick turnaround of ships by achieving best possible container throughput.

e) Regular training and evaluation of the staff to maintain focus on continuous performance improvement. Set key performance indicators in order to create new standards and not just to follow those existing.

f) Liaise with the senior management of Shipping Lines and their Agents to serve them according to their needs.

g) Satisfying the Customer thoroughly as well as fulfilling the company’s objectives cost-effectively is amongst my prime tasks.

? Member of the management team which is involved in the start-up work of the project.

? In-charge of all configurations related to implementation of NAVIS SPARCS N4 terminal operating system.

? In-charge of selecting and training a core team of Super Users in NAVIS SPARCS N4 terminal operating system.

? Responsible for designing yard stacks/blocks, setting up service business rules, defining holds & events, organizations, gate configurations, user roles, privileges, etc.

? In-charge of vessel planning, yard planning, vessel operations, landside movements and gate movements.



? Successfully enhanced the Crane productivity to a minimum of 30 moves per hour.

? Implemented various shift reporting and operational procedures for improving productivity and resource planning.

? Made radical changes to operational arrangements and procedures which increased labour pattern sociability and improved the Operator’s performance.

? Successfully enforced strict adherence of personnel safety procedures.

? Successfully established a new yard layout resulting in vast improvements to vessel productivity.

? Actively participated and contributed towards minimizing costs.

? Chief Super User of NAVIS SPARCS N4 terminal operating system.

? In my capacity as Deputy Operations Manager I managed all the operational activities of cargo handling operations of the terminal whereby I

a) Planned, organized and managed the operations to ensure achievement of the stevedoring plans in an effective, safe and timely manner.

b) Lead, motivated and directed employees to perform their functions in accordance with operational requirements and safety standards.

? Manpower distribution, Vessel operations, coordinating with Port officials, liaising with Agent representatives were also part of my prime responsibilities.

? I managed individual employee performance including discipline and training in conjunction with the latest developments in order to ensure that all statutory obligations and Company policies in respect to human resources were adhered to at all times.



? I had the distinction of achieving optimum productivity from the available resources, enabling quick turnaround of ships calling the terminal.

? I streamlined the cargo discharging/loading procedures in such a way as to enable quick and safe handling.

? I implemented the practice of periodically overhauling the cargo handling equipments in order to achieve maximum benefits.



Documentation Manager

I report directly to the Operations Managers of the two Break-bulk cargo terminals of the King Abdul Aziz Port, Dammam. I handle the ‘Documentations’ department of both the terminals. My department executes all the Documentation and Statistical activities, in addition to Invoicing and Cargo Claims, of Vessels calling our terminals. All jobs are carried out using the indigenous smart software hooked to a huge networking infrastructure, thereby obtaining optimum results. Vessel allocation, berth planning and business forecasting are at my discretion.



I have the distinction of revamping the entire system by making various changes such as planning fool-proof software, which compares data with previous issues and increasing productivity of the staff by adopting various management techniques in order to keep them abreast with the latest demands. Fast and efficient service is my top priority with emphasis on the Company’s objectives. Satisfaction of the clients and maintaining good rapport with them are some of my primary goals.



I have about 85 staff under my direct command.



Administration Superintendent

As Superintendent in the ‘Government Relations’ section of the Administration department, I was assigned the duty of overseeing all its mundane activities. In this brief tenure, I overhauled the entire working system and automated most of the jobs.



I reported directly to the Administration Manager.



Invoicing Superintendent

Reporting directly to the Landside Control Manager, I was in-charge of the ‘Invoicing’ section. I commanded all the Invoicing activities for stevedoring and additional services of Ships handled. I also administered the preparation of various periodic Operational and Financial reports of the terminal, using the sophisticated ‘Container Tracking System’.



During the inception of the project, I was part of the team responsible for formulating procedures/policies, establishing organizational structure, staff selection, training and job allocation.

As Supervisor in the ‘Documentations’ department of the Northern General Cargo Terminal of Jeddah Islamic Port, I reported directly to the Documentation Manager. I supervised all Import/Export Manifest data processing works, preparation of Provisional/Final Outturn reports and daily/periodic Statistical reports.



I also handled Insurance claims for Cargo damages. When necessary, I guided the Head Checkers to prepare Survey reports for cargo damages.

I was assigned onboard Vessels arriving at the Ro-Ro terminal of Jeddah Islamic Port. My responsibilities included monitoring Cargo handling Operations for the Shift and to prepare Shift Discharged/Loaded Report and miscellaneous reports. I also prepared Survey reports for damaged cargoes whenever necessary.



I handled cargo discharging/loading operations in Auto carriers and Passenger ferries.
