Assistant Life Support Technician

Objective


Recently qualified IMCA Assistant Life Support Technician. Self motivated, diligent with aspirations to become qualified Life Support Technician as soon as logged panel hours allows. Team player ready to learn from others. Over 25 years experience in the construction industry gives high levels of people skills dealing with problematic situations with all levels from Site Personnel up to Construction Directors. Methodical and practical approach to solving technical problems. Calm and proficient in emergency situations with experience in powerboat racing rescue diving and as a keen sport scuba diver. Ambitions and personal goals; to work up to LSS/Dive Medic, to qualify as PADI Divemaster, to see Ipswich Town lift another trophy, but most of all to enjoy life to the full.


Experience


23/02/07-01/03/07. Assistant Life Support Technician aboard DB Talon on Loch Linne, Scotland with the Underwater Centre. 2 teams of 4 Divers in Saturation Training, 54msw storage depth with 55msw excursions, using RN Table 4. Duties undertaken; Medi Lock transfers, Hourly ECU checks, Hourly Panel Checks, Bilge & Toilet flushes and preparation of Divers food. All under the supervision of John Penny, Diving Supervisor. 6No 12 hour shifts totalling 72 logged hours. This was unpaid voluntary work on successful completion of the IMCA ALST Course.



April 2006 to current day. Volunteer Rescue Diver with Rapid Response Water Sports Rescue Team. Various locations throughout the UK with National & Club Powerboat Racing. Duties include assisting drivers to exit the water via body boards following capsize or submersion of boats, attending to injured drivers ensuring safe extraction from cockpits or the water via body boards following high speed collisions and safe towage back to shore of broken down boats.
