Also, all major machinery is studied and all systems are traced in order to gain an understanding of the relationship of shipboard systems. In addition, 20 credit hours of Independent Study was completed in the following subjects; main propulsion (steam and diesel), shipboard systems, electrical, naval architecture, refrigeration, machining, maintenance management, maritime business, and deck operations.
