Rocking the Boat (RTB), Intern
September 2009 through May 2011
Served on a team of boatbuilding apprentices working in a professional-grade, wooden boat-building shop to
build full-size traditional wooden boats from start to finish, annually. This work included both the repair and
restoration of the RTB fleet, as well as the building of new boats. As part of the apprentice team, created
architectural drawings, patterns, built ship backbone and cut and steamed planks and framing. Annually, each
team completed the building and launching one wooden boat. In my tenure at RTB, I participated in the
building and launching of two 16-ft. row boats and one 21-ft. sail boat.
Leadership Experience:
Squad Leader, Section Two - Freshman Orientation and Indoctrination SUNY Maritime College, September 2013 -May 2014 Oversaw one-floor of freshman class for duration of one academic year (30 students) Throughout the year, relayed and reviewed general campus policies and regulations with incoming freshman class, as well as my assigned group of freshman.
