Assistant DPA/QMR 2003 - present
-Maintained and improved the company’s safety and quality management system as per the requirements of the ISM code, ISO's management system standards, and OHSAS 18001, which contributed to halving external audit remarks;
-Monitor the safety and pollution prevention activities onboard the company’s Ships, and develop and improve safety and pollution prevention inspection and maintenance checklists, which contributed to reducing port state control deficiencies by 26 %;
-Identify, explain, and provide advice on new and existing maritime legislations applicable to company’s ships, and communicate them to the concerned departments and ships;
-Familiarise newly assigned office staff and ships’ crew on the company’s management system;
-Conducted more than 20 safety and quality inspections and audits on the company’s ships;
-Collect, analyse, and evaluate statistical records of reported incidents and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions for improvement; and have succeeded in eliminating external audit remarks against this area;
-Assisted in rewriting the company’s management system as a result of the company’s merger, and to meet the requirements of ISO9001:2000 and OHSAS18001;

-Acted as shore-based support for the company’s ships, monitoring their performance, condition, and regular repairs and maintenance onboard;
-Developed the preventive maintenance system of a passenger ship, and assumed responsibility for its monitoring and update;
-Maintained and improved the company’s management system;
-Arranged for the supply of spare parts, chemicals, engine store, oils, and all other technical services as per ship’s requirements and the available stock onboard;
-Answered technical inquiries regarding the company’s ships;
-Attended and assisted in planning and supervising dry-docking of ships and monitoring the related repairs and maintenance at Suez-Egypt and Lisnave-Portugal;
-Reviewed and analysed damage and incident reports onboard company’s ships, and recommended corrective and preventive actions.
