USAF Andersen AFB - Guam



Journeyman Electrician

- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints or floor plan details.

- Installing circuits, fixtures, electrical outlets, breaker boxes, panels and other electrical equipment.

- Managing and overseeing apprentice workers and labors assisted to the job or project.

- Scheduling assignments on an ongoing basis to the project on the timeline.

- Coordinating the delivery and requisition of supplies to ensure the job goes forward on schedule.

- Troubleshooting any difficulties or problems with the electrical installation.

- Meeting with contractors, building managers or clients to report any concerns or progress as requested.

- Scheduled both recurring and emergency maintenance on work center equipment--foresight produced data on target at 99% rate!

- Utilized existing equipment and spare parts to assemble needed rack--saved Air Force over $3K in material costs.

- Worked tirelessly to prepare for inspection--directly responsible for strong rating received during Headquarters Pacific Air Force Operational Readiness Inspection.

- Maintained the section's vehicles and over $900K of electronic and specialized equipment.

- Deployed to Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait Operation IRAQI FREEDOM--directly responsible for reducing violence.

- Unit Airman Against Drunk Driving rep; prompt response on four call-outs--key to program success--saved lives & ensured zero DUI's.

USAF Fairchild AFB - Spokane, WA



Journeyman Electrician

- I supported a $3.4 B infrastructure both the active duty and an national guard sides of the base as well as the 14,000 ft. runway.

- I maintained 657 facilities, 4.5M sq. yards of pavement & 505 miles of utilities systems.

- I inspected, serviced, troubleshoot, repaired, maintained, and modified all high and low-voltage electrical systems.

- I maintained, troubleshoot, repaired, and installed all airfield lighting systems and controls for a 14,000 ft runway. I installed 200 ft. of conduit, powered humidifier & 2 air compressors for the $75K TFI project.

- I ran power to 6 eyewash units --125A panel/250 ft. conduit for the hangars AFOSH STD compliant.

- I replaced over 75 fluorescent hangar fixtures for a $27K project.

- I upgraded the $86K Fort Wright water well electrical circuits; provided a reliable water system for Fairchild AFB.

- I also performed 60 RWP hours on 15 critical fire alarm control panels & devices ensuring life safety.

- I skillfully installed a $100K water plant generator/automatic transfer switch.

- I expediently performed crossarm changeout on 16-35 foot poles providing more reliable power to the SERE POW camp.

- I located underground voltage lines for digging maintenance and for upgrading electrical distribution systems.

- I maintained a primary distribution system that consisted of two substations and three primary feeders. The North Substation is supplied 115 kV power from the Airway Heights Line and the South Substation is supplied 115 kV power from the Sunset-Westside Line. Both lines are owned by Avista Utilities.

- I installed new $25K water tower security lighting, 4 poles & 12 floodlights remedied 5 year old ATFP write-up.

- Developed, maintained an intensive PT program that improved morale and reduced the annual failure rate by over 50%.

- Enrolled in an Algebra Class and maintained a 3.0 GPA.

Feb 2007 - July 2007

Community College of the Air Force (Sheppard AFB, TX)

- I perform essentially the same tasks as a civilian electrician. I installed, serviced, modified and repaired electrical equipment and systems.

- I performed maintenance on AC motors and controls.

- I spent numerous hours climbing 40 foot utility poles with gaffs. Such training includes cross-arm changeout in under ten minutes, hurt-man rescue in under 5 minutes, and overhead distribution troubleshooting and installing.

- I also received training on the installation and maintenance of airfield lighting systems as well as other specialized electrical systems that are serviced by the electrical power lineman on military installations.

- I helped troubleshoot and identify problems on the 5,000 foot airfield strip.

- Also received training on underground distribution systems as well as underground manhole rescue procedures.

- Received 46 credits towards my AA in Applied Sciences for the six months i was in training.

- Graduated in the top 25% of my class with a GPA of 3.4

- Obtained Air Force Basic Training Honor Graduate Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, AF Training Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.

- I helped support the 2008 Spokane Bloomsday 12 K run by supporting over 50K runners in Spokane's #1 annual event.

- I mentored a first grade boy at the Fairchild AFB elementary school in the Big Brother Big Sister Program.

- I have extraordinary fitness and was picked to be my squadron PTL (physical training leader).

- I assisted in the electrical support of Skyfest 2008 on base for a record 200K visitors.

- I helped with the 2nd Harvest Inland Northwest in Spokane by distributing 15.3 million pounds of food to a network of 275 neighborhood food banks and meal centers.

- I also helped with the Coats For Kids Foundation as well as the Toys For Tots during Christmas time.
