Ablebody Seaman W/Navigational Watch and Tankerman Assistant

Objective


To pursue and achieve my career goal of becoming a maritime officer, while utilizing my skills and training to effectively help and ensure safety for myself and those that I work with. I hope to work in an entry level possition with a company that is in need of an "AB" and then at some point go to school to recieve my Captains rating.


Experience


Commercial Fisherman: I was a processor and an AB deckhand for 10 years aboard commercial fishing vessels in the Bering Sea, which were based out of Dutch Harbor, AK. (1995-2005) General fishing duties were to repair nets, splice cable and rope wire, while maintaining deck safety and general maintenance. As well as, run hydraulic gear such as knuckle cranes, telescoping cranes and mechanical drums. Other duties included firefighting, skiff operator, tying and untying the vessel while in port or to stand watch under the command of a Mate or Captain.


Education


General high school diploma

I rescently graduated from St. Petersburgs College with my "AA" degree and I have qualified for the Nursing program.

I have a private pilots certification.

- Able Seaman (Unlimited) Rating form part of a navigational watch.

- Tankerman Assistant

- Basic First Aid/CPR

- Lifeboat Endorsement

- Private Pilot Certificate

- Rescue Diver Certification

- TWIC Card


Skils


Crane opporator, navigational watch, deck maintenance, daily opperations aboard meritime vessels, skiff transfers, mooring duties, wire splicing (cable and rope), hydrolic drum opperator.


 


I also have descent communication skills in spanish.
