Objective
To obtain a position that will provide me with an opportunity to use the skills that I have acquired while
working in all of The Great Lakes as an Ordinary Seaman and Able Bodied Seaman aboard the R/V Lake Guardian. I offer my highest standard of professionalism, discipline, good moral character, reliability, excellent service and outstanding work ethic.
Experience
Worked alongside the United States EPA and other scientists from all over the world. Performed Ships maintenance at direction of the Bosun. Chipping, sanding, painting all decks and sides of the
ship. Cleaning all areas of the ship including Pilothouse and Science labs. Overall Ships Maintenance.
Worked all scientific stations. While on station operated Hiab Cranes, Ponar winches and Net tow
winches. Used Hydraulic A-Frames to deploy scientific testing and data retrieval devices. Also used
A-Frames to tow various devices like Benthic sleds and other tow bodies in the water. Triaxus trained.
Proficient with Anchor windlass operations.
While underway stood navigational watch and lookout alongside the Chief Mate. Made rounds every
hour to make sure all equipment was secure and ready for sea.
Proficient with engines and how they work.
Assisted with mooring and unmooring of vessel. Maintained and repaired all dock lines.
Familiar with and able to use small boats in every kind of situation.

Worked with USCG training on Vessel of Opportunity Skimming System. (VOSS). Deploying oil
containment boom.
Qualified in deployment of lifeboats and the use of rescue boat davits.
Proficient and knowledgeable in the use of rigging materials including shackles, overhead material
handling and crane safety.
