Olympic Tug and Barge Portland, OR 11/08 - Present
Deck/Engineer/Cook:
-Handles lines to moor vessel to wharves, tie up vessel to another vessel,
or rig towing lines. Lubricates machinery and equipment. Splices and
repairs cables and ropes, using hand tools. Examines cables that holds
vessels in tow and tightens cables to ensure vessels are snug. Maintains
engine room cleanliness and makes sure systems are running properly.
Cooks meals for the crew.
Majestic America Line Portland, OR 12/06 - 8/08
Boson/Lead Deckhand:
-Responds to all General Alarms and emergency situations.
Maintains all decks and outside structures. Keeps decks in a safe
clean condition and neatly painted. Must have the ability to take
charge and safely moor the vessel in the event that mates are not available.
Handles, splices, and repairs all lines used mooring the vessel.
Has knowledge and applies proper usage of all safety and fire
fighting equipment; the proper functions, procedures, and
stowage. Head Deck Hands are team leaders on emergency squads and
assist the Mate on watch in any emergency situation.
Cruise West Seattle, WA 03/05 – 11/06
Deckhand:
- Daily Vessel duties: Perform a number of tasks as assigned by Chief Mate.
These may include janitorial or customer service work as well as maintenance
of vessel appearance. Shall perform engineering and security rounds as
directed by the Chief Mate, plus the assistance of hotel staff on an as needed basis.
While on watch on the bridge, shall assist officer on watch as directed.
