Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preserves painted surfaces of the vessel, maintains lines, running gear, and cargo handling in a safe operating condition

• Handles lines to moor vessel, cleans decks, chip, and clean and paint rust spots

• Lubricates machinery and equipment, splices and repairs cables and rope, loads and unloads cargo, equipment, and supplies, stands watch from bow or wing of bridge

• Assist the Oiler/Engineer with their duties to obtain knowledge to reach my career goal as an Engineer

• Participated in ongoing drills aboard the vessels which comes in compliance with w/CFR 10.209(6)(ii)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Trained and supervised new employees

• Utilized Miller Mig Welder, Lincoln Electric Mig Welder, Hypertherm Plasma Cutter, Snap-on Modis, Ben Pearson Pipe Bender, cutting torches, and air tools

• Utilized the Alldata Auto Repair Program and Windows XP

• Completed brake jobs, suspensions, ignition systems, electrical systems, OBD I and OBD II computer systems, charging systems, custom exhaust on cars and trucks on various makes and model of vehicles

• Researched wiring schematics

• Identified engine troubles and replaced engine parts as needed

• Ordered and priced parts and labor.

• Communicated with customers in person and by phone

• Opened and closed shop and completed all necessary paperwork.
