Objective
Seeking a position aboard a large tonnage vessel.
Experience
Fishing and Marine Experience:
General Responsibilities- Order, purchase, record, and report vessel expenses. Maintain petty cash records and dispursement. Instituted and maintain station bill. Assist in directing work assignments. Lead fire, medical, and man overboard emergency drills.
Navigation Watch- Helmsman and lookout duties, including course plotting, piloting, operating navigation and communication equipment.
Deck Watch- Inspection of hydraulic system and opertion of contorls, anchor and mooring operations, line and wire rope inspection and handling, maintenance and inspection of survival equipment, knot tying, splicing various types of lines, handle fishing gear and operate equipment, operate skiff during fishing operations, ensure safe equipment operation and work practices.
Engineering Watch- Operating main engine and auxillary equipment control systems, check engine oil temperature, pressure and fluid levels, gear temperature, check bildge level, grease shaft, and assist in basic repairs and maintenance.
Vessel Maintenance- Repair and reassembly of deck and vessel equipment, including deck winches, hatches, rigging, replace gaskets, seals and hydraulic lines, perform basic carpentry and minor repairs, chip, scrape and paint vessel and cleaning duties.
Military:
Completed four year obligation receiving an honorable discharge. Attained rank of E-4, Petty Officer Third Class Aviation Ordnanceman. Supervised and trained 5+ people on a daily basis.
Laborer Experience:
Worked as a Stevedore & Longshoreman. Winch and forklift operator during loading operations of trampers. Delivered mattresses & furniture in a 14,000 lbs GVW box truck, scheduled deliveries with customers, maintained schedule and safe driving record. Experience framing, rolling trusses, digging ditches, pipe fitting and concrete work.
Office Experience:
Designed, managed, and promoted several web sites, and conference CDs. Coordinated business proposals for response to government contracts. Participated in meetings organizing and implementing conferences. Conducted research and developed reports with technical writing. Experience in back office management functions, client relations.
Customer Service and Sales Experience:
Worked as a Front Desk Clerk/Concierge in hospitality industry. Provided excellent customer service and conducted sales in competitive environment. Public relations, daily sales reports, and money handling. Recognized on several occasions for ensuring customer satisfaction. My experience in the hospitality industry involved learning and implementing sales negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
