Lindblad Expeditions 5/04-03/06 Employed as 3rd Mate and 2nd Mate.
150’ Cruise ship operating from Alaska to Baja California Mexico, including the Columbia a Snake River. Responsible for the upkeep of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Assist in maintaining the ISM Safety Management System inspections and documentation. Assist in navigating and piloting the vessel safely. Also responsible for the maintenance of charts and all bridge navigational and communications equipment. Small boat operations (20 ft Zodiacs) and oversee kayak operations.
Salary- $34,000

Lindblad Expeditions 09/02-03/03 Deckhand
Same vessel as above. Duties included standing bridge watch at night and during poor visibility, maintaining exterior of the vessel, assisting in small boat operations, handling lines, dropping anchor, engine room system checks, security rounds and gangway watch. Pay $100/day
Reinauer Transportation 02/00-02/01 Deckhand
Worked as a deckhand on tugboats towing mostly petroleum and deck barges to various ports up and down the East Coast from Maine to Florida. Also ship assist work.
Responsible for maintenance of exterior and interior of the vessel including deck machinery. Bridge watch at night and during poor visibility, engine room rounds, line handling, operation of the towing winch and helmsman duties under the supervision of the Master or Mate. Pay $168/day
Gellately Petroleum and Towing 12/98-01/00 Deckhand
Transporting petroleum barges in the greater NY Harbor area including Long Island Sound and the Hudson River.
Responsible for the maintenance of the exterior and interior of the vessel including deck equipment, standing bridge watch at night and during periods of poor visibility, line handling, assist Engineer in maintaining engine room systems, assist Tankermen in loading and discharging petroleum barges and helmsman duties under supervision of the Captain. Pay $135/day
Prior to these positions I worked as a commercial fisherman on various vessels including owning/operating my own boat for two years.
