Objective
Obtain a position as a junior captain, third captain, or mate on a small offshore supply vessel (under 100 grt) or a crewboat. A position as an able seaman unlimited on a larger offshore supply boat, especially with a large company is also very desirable.
Experience
December 1, 2008 to present: Mate, small offshore supply vessel OCS Dallas, home port, Freeport, TX.
July 2007 to April 2008: Able Seaman (Special) offshore supply vessel J.F. Jett, home port New Orleans, LA
January 2007 to July 2007: Ordinary Seaman, same vessel as above.
Fall 2006: Instructor, English as a Second Language, El Paso Community College.
December 2005 to March 2006: Deck Engine Utility aboard T5 tanker, USNS Samuel L.Cobb, a 615-foot vessel operating worldwide.
September 1985 to November 2005: U.S. Border Patrol Agent, including Sector Lead Intelligence Agent, El Paso Sector.
Education
Mid-Atlantic Maritime Academy, 100-ton Master's course.
Other courses completed: Able Seaman, Proficiency in Survival Craft (Lifeboatman), Rating forming part of a Navigational Watch, STCW; Basic Safety Training.
M.A. degree, in teaching English as a Second Language from Northern Arizona University.
Certification
100-ton Master, Able Seaman Unlimited, CPR & First Aid USCG approved, STCW, Marine Radio Operator's License.
