Objective


secure full time employment working on deck, preferabley on coastal tankers or cargo vessels but would consider gas tankers, shuttle tankers, dredgers, tugs or some Ro Ro ferries or research / survey vessels.


Experience


Served 8 years with the Royal Naval Reserve including 13 months full time service as regular with Royal Navy as rating in the seaman branch. Experience on frigates, destroyers and patrol craft



3 years experience in the Merchant Navy as Seaman in Deck dept, working mainly on short term or agency contracts with various companies including Wightlink Ltd, United Marine dredging, Northwood dredging, P&O ferries, Waverly excursions, RMAS and RFA. experience on Tankers, Ro Ro ferries, passenger vessels, Dredgers and cargo vessels.



5 years service with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, 2 years in Deck dept as Seaman grade 1B and sea survival equipment maintainer and last 3 years as Medical Technician / AB (SG1A) with last posting at shore establishment (HMS Collingwood) in medical centre as Petty Officer Medical Assistant in charge of Casualty reception and treatment room. seagoing experience on large and small Tankers, stores ships, landing ships, aviation support and hospital ship, replenishment ships.



Most recent experience as Chief Petty Officer Coxswain with P&O Cruises onboard MV Oceana, duties including Fire safety, maintenance of fire fighting equipment, passenger safety, passenger evacuation, driving og lifeboats and ships tenders, fast rescue, steering and general deck seamanship and supervision of seamen.
