Duties: Assemble River Barge tows using heavy cable, rigging, and ratchets for up to 60 barges at one time. Maintained boat and equipment by cleaning, chipping and painting. Loading and offloading of supplies, Small Boat operator. Worked 12 hour shifts at a time. Advanced from Deckhand to Watchmen, supervising deck crews. Repair yard experience consisting of tear down and buildup of the ships Detroit Diesel and AMD 5000 hp diesel engines. Worked with the Captain from the front of 1200 foot tow guiding him thru difficult obstacles without problems. Have disassembled barge tows over 1000 times to be able to move thru the river locks under all weather and lighting conditions from St Paul, Minnesota to New Orleans Louisiana with no Safety Mishaps.

Duties: Lobster fishermen, was responsible for repair and upkeep of fishing vessel and all related fishing gear. Loaded all bait, and delivered catch to market. Navigated the vessel when Captain not at the helm. Often worked 12 hour days, seven days a week in adverse conditions.
