I am seeking a career change with an opportunity to apply my extensive mechanical experience, strong work ethic, and significant marine training and certifications to obtain an A/B position from which I can grow within the maritime industry.
Experience
W.E. Andrews, Bedford, Mass. 2003-07 Pressroom Manager weekends for a company with $50m annual sales. Directed the workforce which included 2 pressrooms, pre-press dept., bindery and maintenance departments. In this position I worked closely with both customers, print brokers, and our own sales people to create a product that was on time and to the customers specifications. Quite often this intailed changing of work schedules and performing emergency equipment repairs.
Eussey Press, Leominster, Mass. 2001-2003 Night Shift Pressroom Manager Coordinated the operations of pressroom , bindery, maintenance and shipping departments. Responsible for 30-50 employees in a fast paced commercail print enviorment.
Smith Litho 1999-2001 Rockville, MD. Web Pressman Operated Harris M-110 6 color web and directed the efforts of crew to complete the tasks at hand.

Pressman- Provided input to the design of press line during manufacture, assisted in the rigging and installation of equipment. Trained all the crews to work on the equipment for a 7/24 operation. Along the way I made many modification to the equipment to better fit our product needs.

Familiar with heavy equipment maint. I have an extensive background with pnuematic and hydraulic systems as well as limited diesel experience. Able to both read and interpret blueprints as needed to complete repairs. Familiar with safety practices and procedures. In one company I wrote the manuals for de-energizing equipment prior to performing maintenance operations.
I have owned and operated my own Aux./sail boat for the last 16 years during this time I have spent alot of time on the water and around vessels of all types. I am seeking this postion as an opprotunity to start over again.
