Objective


I am a recent graduate, so I would like to step in to the maritime industry and start building up my career. I do not have a specific job that I want. My main objective is to get a job that would require unlimited tons license and work hard to fulfill the requirements and qualifications of my superiors.

Duties: Yorktown Express Container liner Hapag-Lloyd/MTM/Crowley (800 feet).

Stood bridge watches (familiarized with all of the bridge equipment including radars, GPS, AIS, NAVTEX, etc), stood anchor watches, port watches.

Loaded stores in port.

Checked lashings, twistlocks, turnbuckles, etc. in port for proper stowage of containers on deck.

Performed refrigerator round of containers on a regular basis (temperature readings/general integrity of containers)/ entered data in a computer

Painting/priming, chipping, scraping, etc.

Assisted in line handling.

Proper Logging of bell book and other logs.

Assisted in pilot rigging.

Assisted in operation of cranes.

Assisted in sounding/cleaning of bilges.

Assisted in Fire inspections, lifeboat inspections.

Helped 2'nd mate with updating pubs, books, charts.

General rounds with Chief Mate.

Lubrication of various equipment on the regular basis.

Assisted in grinding/welding.

Minor duties including wake up calls/cleaning/making coffee, etc.
