Objective


Employ myself with a challenging position utilizing my marine transportation skills and/or a position providing valuable experience within the maritime industry.


Experience


3 training cruises, 2 60-day cruises with the Training Ship Golden Bear, California Maritime Academy's training ship. And a 72-day co-op internship cruise with Military Sealift Command. I have also worked for about 3 full weeks on a tug&barge run from San Diego to Ensenada with R.E. Staite run company, Harbor Tug & Barge, and for about 2 weeks on tug boats for Pacific Tugboat Service in San Diego Bay. I also worked for a bay cruise company in San Francisco bay for approximately 2 years.


Education


High school Diploma from Bonita Vista High School, Bonita, CA in 2003. Received my B.S. in Marine Transportation from California Maritime Academy in 2009.


Certification


3rd mate, unlimited tonnage, oceans, with all accompanying certifications, 1995 STCW compliant. GMDSS Radio Operators License&Permit. Basic Advanced Firefighting, Vessel/Company Security Officer, Medical Person in Charge, Radar Unlimited. 100 ton master equivalent. Tankerman assistant. 72 days towards my PIC-DL, close to receiving my mate of towing. Basic Safety, Bridge Resource Management, Lifeboatman, etc.


Skils


Thorough knowledge in line handling, whether large vessel or tugboat. Extensive knowledge and practice in small vessel (tugboat-size) handling. Proficient in celestial navigation and terrestrial navigation. Ability to learn quickly, particularly with new technology electronics/computers etc.
