2nd Mate: Crowley Marine Services. Valdez, Alaska. April 2006-Present

Preformed duties including; performing a navigation watch on a 6x6 rotation, chart and publication correcting, and various checks of vessel equipment. Was also responsible for enacting Crowley’s safety culture while conducting tanker escorts under Alyeska’s supervision.

Deckhand: Baydelta Maritime. San Francisco, California. Spring 2005-April 2006

Managed all tasks relevant to the deckhand position and assisted the mate, engineer, and captain with the continuous upkeep of tugs and machinery.

Librarian: California Maritime Academy Library. Vallejo, California. Fall 2003-Winter 2005

Provided reference assistance and answered questions related to publications and computers.

Rigger: Port Townsend Rigging. Port Townsend, Washington. Spring 2000-Fall 2005

Worked with individual clients to create custom rigging solutions that blended ergonomics and efficiency with offshore safety. Skills included line splicing and hardware installation.

Sailmaker: Port Townsend Sails. Port Townsend, Washington. Fall 1998-Spring 2002

Trained in all aspects of sail construction including measuring, design, layout, and assembly.

Taught individuals of various experience levels and ages the skills of sailing through utilization of good communication and listening skills. United States Sailing Level 1 Certified.

Deckhand: F/V Ardey. Sitka, Alaska. Spring 1988-Summer 1996

Was the sole deckhand aboard a fifty-foot commercial fishing troller. Responsibilities included watch keeping, deck work, and performing scheduled maintenance.
