Assistant engineers any Inspection duties needed
Experience
During my twenty years as both a CEI and an FDOT inspector, I have been responsible for all phases of construction inspection, inspecting and directing the work of crews of 25 or more, performing maintenance of traffic, documentation of contractor performance for state contract documents to FDOT standards, coordinating work among various inspection, contractor and state agencies and the training of new personnel under both lane closure and live traffic conditions. Specific experience includes:
BRIDGES: Longitudinal and transverse stressing; steel placement, count and location; measurement of concrete placement during deck pours; testing of Classes 1, 2 & 4 concrete and related reporting; supervision of precast segmented bridge construction (concrete footers & columns); inspection of all phases of cantilever truss, steel girder and AASHTO beam bridge installation; inspection of piling installation, blow count, penetration, bearing, elevation & cut-off lengths; rolling straight-edge inspections of segmental, thickened- slab and beam bridges; inspection of Type F curb & gutter and P6/P5 drainage tie-ins; milling and sealing of bridge decks; inspection of grout and epoxy injections; widening of existing decks & structures; shearlock replacement and inspection of the electrical components of and temporary bastile-leaf bridges.
ROADWAYS: Inspection of subgrade, limerock & asphalt roadways, boarding of roadway & shoulder, coring of limerock and subgrades; inspection of guard rail, CASS cable safety systems, rip rap, grassing and Type A&B fencing installations; inspection of construction of retaining walls, gravity walls and various reinforced earthwalls; installation of fiber optic manhole boxes and HDPE fiberoptic proofing; and inspection of all phases of roadway curb and gutter and drainage structure; roadway lighting, signage, striping and maintenance of traffic and related lane closures. Also performed maintenance of 13-mile roadway with associated toll booths and toll plaza for OOCEA and remedial clean-up of 6-mile beautification project for Osceola County.
OTHER: Removal/relocation of exotic plants; supervision of forced air burns; inspection of pipe and headwall; verification of slope and grade; inspections of intersection signalization & lighting; and maintenance of traffic. Incident management of vehicle accidents, including MOT set-up, on-site supervision and clean up. Supervision of clean-up of hurricane debris and monitoring of heavy equipment.
MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE
FDOT District Five, Oviedo Maintenance. Senior Inspector for maintenance contracts. Estimated a $1,000,000 shoulder ditch contract on I-4, SR50 and Highway 46 and a $350,000 tree contract for all state roads in Orange and Seminole counties within six months. Performed additional inspections for all other contracts (concrete slabs on I-4 and SR50) current underway. Handled all maintenance of traffic for emergency operations and other inspections duties as required.
SR 408 Widening Project from Holland West Toll Plaza to I-4, Page One Consultants for URS Granier (under Al Khan, Project Engineer), April to July2005. Senior Inspector overseeing HDPE fiber optic proofing, lighting conductor and davit-type streetlight installation with associated MOT for multiple lane closures under night-time conditions.
Relocated to the SR 528 from Narcossee Road to SR 520, Page One Consultants for Parsons Brinckerhoff (under Steve Wigle PE), July 2005 to February 2006. Senior Inspector supervising installation of a CASS Cable Safety System under live high-speed interstate traffic, day and some night operations, costing $2.2 million dollars from ICP Blvd. to SR 520 (9 miles). Senior Inspector supervising installation of standard W-beam guard rail from ICP Blvd. to Narcossee Road (6 miles, 9 miles installed) costing 1.9 million dollars as a night work operation.

CONSULTANT ENGINERERING EXPERIENCE
Western Beltway (655 and 600 Project) SR 429, GAI Southeast, June 2001 to September 2002.
Project covered the construction of SR 429 (Western Beltway) from the Turnpike to US 441 in Apopka in two phases, totaling $78 million dollars. Responsible for all phases of bridge construction of steel girder and AASHTO beam bridges on Phase 1. Inspection of all phases of roadway lighting, signage, overhead and cantilever truss inspection and performed final inspection of permanent stripping on Phase 1 (600 Project). Documented all final punchlist items for all bridge, roadway and lighting on Phase 1. Completed Phase 2 (655 Project), performing inspection of all roadway lighting, fiber optic system, signalization, signage, striping and maintenance of traffic and related lane closures. Project Completed.
State Road 7 (US 441) Widening, Stone & Webster, September 2000 to December 2000
Project covered widening of SR 7 from Atlantic Boulevard to Glades Road, including construction of new single span bridge with associated roadwork and sound walls. Relocated to North Carolina.
Forest Hill Boulevard Bridge over Florida Turnpike, Tampa Bay Engineering, March to August 2000.
Hired as senior inspector. Project shut down by Department of Transportation due to land sale. Transferred to State Road 80 project to complete concrete inspections of Phase I construction of an ASSHTO beam bridge over the Florida Turnpike at SR 80. Transferred to US 441 to cover inspections until job was staffed by permanent personnel.
Royal Park Bridge over Intracoastal Waterway, E. C. Driver, August 1999 to February 2000.
This $9 million dollar project for the Florida Department of Transportation and the Town of Royal Palm Beach consisted of construction of a temporary 670 LF, four-lane, 21-span, bastile-leaf and concrete deck bridge, including associated approach slabs, tie-ins, asphalt paving, sidewalks & handrails and curbs. Inspection of all associated concrete, structural steel, bolting and electrical components of bridge leafs. Also supervised partial demolition of draw span of existing bridge and assisted with roadway and asphalt tie-ins. Project Completed.
