2nd Class Marine Engineer

Objective


I am looking for full time or stand by employment on any marine cargo vessels as 2nd engineer or chief engineer under 3500kw propulsion with maximum 2 months on before leave entitlement, preferable within North and South American waters but will consider employment offers.


Experience


I started as deck cadet and changed over to be engineer cadet with W.A Souter Newcastle UK and I have worked for United Arab Shipping company, Kuwait Shipping company on bulk and General cargo ships Deep sea with some time as Engineer on a a small castal tanker in UK waters. More recently I was chief engineer on a tug barge combination unit on the great Lakes Canada for Fettes Shipping and Chief Engineer of a 10000t heavy lift DP 1 self propelled crane ship. I have also been barge master/Barge Engineer on Jack up barges on various construction and oil rigs. I have performed Dry docking and refit work and I have a lot of experience with Marine electronics and control systems ships electrics and Switchboards.


Education


I went to South Shields Marine College UK for 2 years. I have 1 year at Ryerson Polytechnic Canada and I hold a Canadian 2nd class engineers licence with STCW. I also have courses as EDH, Dynamic Positioning, MED A, B,C and D , Telemetry control. Engine Simulator instructor and a vast amount of experience

Skils


I am very familiar with all types of marine engines such as Sulzer, Doxford, B&W, MAN, Cummings, EMD, Stork, and some caterpillar, I worked on most Mechanical, Hydraulic, electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls, telemetry, Electrical systems and switchboards. I can read any drawings or logic systems.
