Experience
July 2004- Present: 3rd and 2nd Assistant Engineer for Oceaneering International Inc. aboard the MV Performer, 6000 hp, four 4-stroke Bergen diesel engines. Stood 12 hour watches, most during Dynamic Positioning. Operated, maintained, troubleshot, and repaired auxiliary and engine room equipment. Directed ballasting, fueling, and slop operations. Supervised Watch motorman and up to 10 day workers. Responsible for noon reports, sounding logs, and JSEAs (Job Safety Environmental Analysis).
May 2003 to July 2003: Maine Maritime Academy Junior Training Cruise aboard the TV State of Maine, 8,000 hp MAK diesel engine. Taught underclassmen about ship's engine room, and carried out maintenance on engineering equipment.
June 2002 to Aug 2002: Engine Cadet with Maersk Line Ltd aboard the Maersk Texas containership, 15,000 hp MAN B&W 2-stroke diesel. Assisted all engineers with maintaining equipment. Prepared detailed written report of engineering systems.
May 2001 to July 2001: Maine Maritime Academy Freshman Training Cruise. Learned major components of engine room and performed maintenance on equipment.
