Experience

Position applying for; 1st Mate/ Captain/Crew

Employment History

Self employed for the past 30 years in the restaurant/hospitality business.

Also worked for Marinette Marine Corp. and ABCD Marine LLC in the last 13 years as a deck/utility hand for sea trials and deliveries. During this time I met Captain Dean Hobbs, (Senior Captain SS Badger-Lake Michigan), who was also contracted to take the new ships from Marinette Marine Corp, out on sea trials and deliveries.

He encouraged me to get my captains license and has taught me many aspects of running a ship. Eventually I would receive my OUPV through 3B’s Captain Training School and then my 100 ton license through US Captain’s Training.

Captain Hobbs would give me the opportunity to be on the bridge on many occasions to observe radar, gps, and general ship handling maneuvers. We have worked together on many of the new Coast Guard cutters, ocean going tugs, and 3 of the new Staten Island ferries as well as the new US Navy combat ship LCS “Freedom”.

A list of these ships, including tonnage and sea time can be forwarded to you if you wish to see them.
